Professionals, please let me know if that is right choice and not a wrong one.
From what I read that airplane must be or have been based around the Dallas area. Bela's is no longer in business... 560 hours in 16 years would make me wonder about the possibility of corrosion inside the engine if was not correctly preserved. Sitting idle for long peroids of thie would also concern me as to the condition of the fuel tanks as they are bladders and are not cheap. The prop is low time but how many calendar months? The radio stack appears to be pretty outdated and is difficult to find an Avionics shop to work on the old stuff. Has the airplane been annualed EVERY year since new? Has the airplane had a VFR or IFR cert lately? I am not trying to trash the airplane, just alerting you of the facts of buying an airplane that has been sitting for a long period of time. I would check with a few insurance companies to see what the value is, this is a good indicator if the airplane is a deal or not. Do yourself a favor and get a GOOD prebuy, do not skimp on the price especially if it is an Authorized Service Center which I highly recommend.
