Any opinions on a 1967 172 for a new pilot?

I'm looking at 1967 low time 172 with the 6 cylinder continental engine. It has current paint and a refurbished interior. Are there any good or bad things that I should know about a plane of this genre? Thanks, Greg

Greg - I would suggest you visit the AOPA website and take the new online interactive course on Aging Aircraft. It will help you as you inspect the aircraft and view the engine and aircraft logbooks.

Make sure to look up all A.D.s and compliance.Check for rotting hoses above the headliner.Compression check & oil analysis.
