I'm thinking of installing strobes on the wing tips on my 1968 skylane. right now it only has a rotating beacon type strobe on the tail. Would that be the circuit to install it on and would the available circuit breaker be sufficient to protect the amp draw. any suggestions on brands with good install instructions specific to this model airplane. I am A&P/IA so I would be doing the installation myself.
Most of the "stand alone" circuits are only protected enough to cover the accessory being powered. Most kits come with all of the necessary info or parts to complete the installation. A good alternative if you have to drill a hole in the panel is to install a c/b switch rated at whatever the system requires. The best system I have found, being user friendly, dependable and install friendly is Whelen. This system is a little pricey, the only other one I would consider is Aeroflash. Both of these come with all of the necessary STC paperwork...
