I'm considering purchasing a 150 model "unknown." I'm a student pilot taking a serious look at the 150s. Price is attractive, fuel consumption is low, and maintenance is cheap so to speak. I am leaning toward the H model and up for the leg room, rear window, and electric flaps. So to all of the current 150 owners and experts out there, which model do you prefer? Thanks in advance.
I've owned a 1976 'M' model for 12 years now and think that it was the best of all 150's. It brought together all the improvements made over the years and to me looks the best. The continental 0-200 is bulletproof (what did Cessna just decide to put in it's 'new' 162?) and I never saw the Lycoming of the 152 as being an improvement (also, note the puggish profile of the cowling and spinner on the 152). If you got an H model, you'd probably be fine, but it probably wouldn't cost much if any less than the M and it would be about 8 years older.
Can't imagine ever selling the 150. You really can't go wrong with them if you're reasonably careful and have it checked out first.
