O-300 D Power Adjustments

I need to know how to adjust my 172 D with a 0-300D Connie at 75% power. I have asked a couple of pilots that told me different answers. What is the correct procedure? Fixed pitch prop. 145 H.P. Also at what EGT should it be adjusted to for cruise?

75% Power per Owners Manual is: ref "Cruise & Range Performance"

2500 RPm @ 2500 Altitude 8.5 Gal/hr

2625 RPM @ 7500 Alt 8.5 Gal/hr

2700 RPm is 71% @ 10,000 Alt 8.1 Gal/hr

What type EGT system do you have?

I have digital CHT and EGT gauges on all 6 cylinders. Plus I still have the old single EGT gauge that was on the plane when I purchased it. It was redlined at 1400 degrees.I have had a lot of cylinder problems and have had to replace all of them.

I'll probably have a LOT of folks disagree but my procedure would be:

RPM to 75% or LESS per chart.

Adjust Mixture & note PEAK on HottEST.

Richen by 100 degrees

You didn't state WHY ALL cylinders were REPLACED.
