I fly a 1981 P210N with about 880hrs on an engine that has not been topped. My oil temp redlines on the analog gauge and the engine analyzer indicates a high of 224 degrees while the CHT's remain on average of 410. This occurs during climb out and occurs regardless of OAT(The cooler the OAT the longer it takes to redline) Question is why would this be occuring?
What is the normal operating temps? The POH high oil temp is 240 degrees. I dont like operating 15 degrees from red line leaving me few options and leveling off to cool is not an option that I like to employ while IMC over mountainous conditions.

I own a t210 N (TSIO520R).
We have the same high oil temp. problem.
In cruise climb (110 kts, 30inch, 2500rpm) with cowl flaps full open oil temp is close to red line and cht´s about 400.
climbs at Vy are impossible because of high oil temps.
the probe indicating is correct, no difference between w100 and 15-50 oils.

Has it run this high this since the engine was rebuilt (all 880 hours)?
What cylinders do you have?
Was the oil cooler properly flushed (sent out) when the engine was done?
What are your compressions?
What is you oil consumption? Has it changed recently?
