My partner and I currently own a 1979 Piper Archer II. Due to the increase in size of my family, we need to move up to a six-place plane. My partner likes the Cherokee 6, while I am interested in the 210. We will have to come to some sort of agreement on this. If we go with the 210, I want to stick with the normally aspirated model, for a number of reasons. The year range we have been focusing on is 1976-1982. We would also like the 210 to have known ice capability. However, based on my survey of offerings on tradeaplane and controller.com, there seems to be very few (actually, I couldn't find any) normally aspirated 210's with known ice. There are a reasonable number of T210's and P210's with known ice. Does anyone know if regular 210's with known ice are a rarity or have I just not looked hard enough?

I too wanted a NA 210 with boots after picking up a load of ice in my 182, but cold not find one. I got a 78 NA 210M and have never looked back. I live in NJ. I have canceled about 15 trips in 18 years mostly because of icing conditions. I have picked up light to moderate ice several times but never noticed a big difference in handling. BIG 210 fan!
Thanks for responding to my query. It seems that lack of de-icing equipment on the NA210 did not affect your flight plans too much.
I too like the 210. The problem is that my partner has no complex, high performance, or retractable time so the insurance rates will be very high and the plane's complexity makes him nervous. Unfortunately, for my typical mission it perfectly fits the bill. Oh well.
