N8812X, 182D, 1961

I purchased this project to hopefully save it from the Skydiving clubs nearby.

The mechanic tells me that we have lots of tasks ahead. I will figure out a way to share the stories as we bring this great aircraft back to great shape.

  • UPDATE

    The project moves forward :)

    Lets face it we all love going to the airport and working with our project planes.

    Current events

    Tail Feathers off and shipped to the the folks at Airframe Components. They will be working on: R/H and L/H elevator feather loose rivets @ pivot

    Propeller pulled and taken to Stockton Propeller Inc. They will be working on: Red dye on prop

    Full Inspection of plane completed: Lots of photos and set up racks just for airplane parts.

  • UPDATE – We’re Moving the Story to a New Home

    Thanks to everyone who’s followed along with this project so far! It’s been a blast sharing the progress—tail feathers off to Airframe Components for work on the right and left elevator pivot rivets, propeller pulled and over to Stockton Propeller for red dye inspection, and the full aircraft inspection completed with racks set up just for N-8812X’s parts.

    Moving forward, I’ll be posting all the newest photos, restoration updates, and adventure plans in a brand-new thread we just created. This will make it easier to follow along as N-8812X’s journey unfolds—from the restoration shop to flying adventures around the Pacific Northwest.
