Deleting a Message

I have an old for sale message which I like to delete. How can this be done?

    Above and right of the message is an icon that looks like a gear. If you click on it a "delete" option will be displayed and you can click on that. Let me know if you have any further difficulty. Thanks for writing me.

    The gear doesn't have a delete option in it. The choices are: Preferences, Mark all viewed, mark category viewed and sign out.
