Turbo Skylane is Back!

Hi everyone,

Cessna recently announced that they are building turbo Skylanes again. What are you thoughts on that? They now have four singles back in production, which I think is good. Do you think they'll sell any at a starting price of $653,000?

    That’s a lot of money.

  • They are certainly pretty and that turbo can get you 150+ knots at altitude. However, I could not in good conscience trade my 76 182p for all the extra expense and higher fuel burn to gain 10 knots. The other factor is my old plane has better than 150 lbs more useful load.

It would sure be nice to have a bit more altitude at times and takeoff performance at high DA here in the west - And of course, that brand new glass panel. But here in my real world, I am happy to have a plane I love and the ability to get Avgas for it.
