A 1974 Pacific Northwest 172M
I'm based out of 38W (Jansen Field/Lynden Airport) in Lynden, Washington.
N22230's powerplant is a Lycoming O-320-E2D rated at 150 h.p.
Starting is certainly a lot easier with that SureFly installed on the left side.
I am a Private Pilot SEL and an A&P.
This is the first aircraft that I have ever owned!
Maybe in a couple of years I'll have the instrument panel upgraded, but for now, it's just fine as-is.
N22230 is a pleasure to fly in the Pacific Northwest!

You can’t beat a 172. Congrats. It will more than likely give you many happy years.
Regarding the replacement of the oil screen with an oil filter adapter... I tried installing the B&C Specialty Products oil filter adapter (OFA), p/n BC700-1, onto the accessory case of the O-320-E2D, but it didn't fit. Specifically, the base of the B&C OFA's four through holes did not match that of the oil screen housing's through holes, so the OFA could not be properly attached, and its hardware properly secured into place. In addition, the housing of the spin-on oil filter element contacted the 45-degree elbow fitting -- that's located directly beneath the oil screen housing -- and the oil cooler hose that is connected to that 45-degree fitting. I worked with B&C's sales and technical support teams (both provided excellent service to me), but we couldn't come up with a solution, so I returned the OFA kit, and they refunded my purchase in the full amount. Is there another company that offers an OFA kit that will fit an O-320-E2D that is STC/PMA-approved and available?
