'controls free & correct' Check...

I just became a Member & I'm reaching out to see if you can shed light on this anomoly &/or refer me to someone to contact...

Before starting my 1964 C-182 when I check 'controls free & correct,' they always are.

Then when I start the engine & recheck 'controls free & correct,' sometimes there is a 'modest-bind' when I pull the yoke about half-way back.

--this 'binding' always releases by pulling a bit harder, then the yoke will freely return to the panel (i.e. forward)...

--this happens about 1 of 4 starts...

--this only happens on the 1st flight (start) of the day...

--my mechanic says the cables are all fine...

--He did replace the original grommet on the yolk (right at the panel) which made it a little smoother, but still intermittent.

--I'm wondering if the propwash over the horiz-stabilizer could somehow be involved?

Any input/ideas are sincerely appreciated...

Thank you in advance; Richard 541-389-4523
