Looking at buying a 1979 P210 any advice you can give would be appreciated..
Hello,
I am new to this forum. I have owned a B58 baron and a F33a bonanza ( at the same time) for the last 25 years. I decided to sell them both and buy one airplane that would work for my needs. I have decided that a P210 looks good.. Am I wrong? What should I look for on the pre buy? what can I expect for recurrent problems... is it difficult to comply with all of the recurring ADs? any advice would be greatly appreciated..

Hi j,, a very good place to start would be log into aviation consumer if you're not a subscriber sign up and you can search the aircraft report section for 210 reviews and research. There's some excellent points in their reviews that will help you understand what you're getting into. It's an aircraft that's not for the faint of heart as far as pocketbook goes. But performance is certainly above par. Landing gear for quality of maintenance and conditions would be high in the list when you're shopping. That will be brought out in the research articles.

Check with your insurance agent what your rates will be. I was seriously thinking of a P210 until I talked with my agent and my AP. Both told me my annual costs could be close to double. That put it beyond my budget. I ended up buying T210N and love it. A P210 was a temptation over a T210 since the selling price is close to the same but the yearly costs are not.
good luck, they are both great planes
a hint that I got was buy a ‘N’ model or newer
Something else to consider- even through I’m a 10,000 hour ATP/pro pilot, I was told due to recent changes in the insurance world due to hull losses- you would be required to go to P210 school. Supposedly there are only a handful of places that do it. My insurance guy said the same of other single pressurized aircraft such as the Malibu, et. Al..
I would recommend one with an intercooler, good landing gear maintenance history
