Belly Fuel Drain Valve for C182A
I'm trying to find a replacement for the fuel drain valve located below the engine on my 182A. I suspect I'll be getting a Curtis Superior valve, but I can't find a cross-reference from the CCA-#### part number that Curtis uses, and the Cessna part number used in the maintenance manual (1850410-1). Has anyone ever replaced this valve and know what the correct valve to order is? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Patrick

Hi PatrickMH,
There are many styles of drain valve and several thread options that must match the tap used to create the fuel fitting. Screwing in the wrong fitting can damage the threads on both parts and invite leaks sooner or later. Looking at the Cessna Part number you provided seems to cross to a Curtis style "pipe thread" type fitting. To be sure you have the correct part, I would suggest running this by your A&P/IA as he/she will need to complete the installation and paperwork for your logs. Perhaps your A&P/IA could even order one for you? Why not get a couple of spares? As aviation prices go, they are inexpensive. By the way, you never mentioned the model year or serial number. For ordering one you will also need this information.
I'm loosing track of how many fuel drains are on the various model Cessna aircraft!

Mike
