Environmental Protection Agency

Hello Cessna Owners Org.,

I am a research librarian for the Environmental Protection Agency.

A team at EPA is trying to establish that the chemical PCE (tetrachloroethylene) was used in aircraft

maintenance in the 1940s-1960s and commonly disposed of by pouring it into the ground.

A pilot friend recommended that your membership may include retired pilots and maintenance workers who have knowledge of this chemical and possibly access to historical manuals and similar documents that can confirm usage and disposal methods.

E.g., does your organization have access to historical maintenance manuals that you could loan, or grant digital access to, as a courtesy?

Please let me know if you can assist in this search in any way.

Thank you for your time.
