There should be two little tabs on the snap ring like this, pull them together with a pair of pliers and the snap ring will pop out releasing the light.
If the tabs are broken off (Many are) use a small flast blade screwdriver or a scribe (pick) to work one end out.
The lamp will fall out once the ring is removed so be prepared!
